Bear Hole Trails Opener

BEAR HOLE: Bear Hole is a protected town owned property spanning about 1700 acres in size. Hiking, biking walking and other forms of passive recreational activities are allowed. This event will allow Bear Hole to continue to grow healthily for these types of recreation, and allow for a renewed interest in outdoor activity in our area. Much of the funds donated from this event will be for the purpose of maintaining the trails within bear hole, updating them when neccesary, and keeping it clean and free of illegal activity as best as possible. We hope that this initiative in Bear Hole will not only offset the environmental impact of recreation in this natural landscape, but also help maintain it for many years to come.

EVENT: This ride is not a race, but the best 3 finishing times in each category will be acknowleged on the Bear Hole website after the event, and will be eligible to receieve small prizes from our sponsors. The terrain is mixed, and a mountain bike is HIGHLY recommended. Most of the event will take place on the Bear Hole Rd/ Resevoir side of the area, but the two longer mileage rides will venture further closer to the Ashley resevoir side. Trails consist of mixed single & double track sections, and any "features" would be easily avoidable if you as the rider is not comfortable. A release waiver must be signed before the event on location and ALL riders must wear a helmet. In addition to the individual rides, there will be a few other individual vendors showing up to showcase products, provide info on other related non profits and most importantly, food! A vendor list will be available soon.

Sponsor info: Colorado Ski & Bike of West Springfield will be raffling off a mountain bike at the event as well, with all proceeds going to benefit the West Springfield Partnership for Education & will be providing some demo bikes for the event.
